A Different Type of Romance Story

Daniel MacAlister (hero) is told by his CIA boss that he have to go check on Risa Remington (heroine), a former CIA undercover operative. Daniel knows what comes with this request. He might have to eliminate Risa if she is now a risk to the CIA. Risa Remington all her life was trained by the CIA and knows nothing else. At one time Risa could read minds and had teamed up with Daniel. Her mind-reading talent was once very valuable to the CIA, but while out on assignment, an explosion caused her to lose her ability. She now finds herself obsolete to the CIA and must live as a regular person, in a world that she knows little about. The CIA fears she may become unstable and threaten their organization with what she knows. They send Daniel MacAlister to check out her situation. The story is different because it gives the heroine telepathic abilities and with some undercover mystery thrown into the storyline. Daniel MacAlister when he meets up with Risa Remington again, immediately feels the attraction and wants to explore more. Their love scenes were fiery and they quickly become addictive to one another. Although I enjoyed the story there were points that made me felt sorry for Risa and how she was used by the CIA. I believe this is the type of romance novel that will be enjoyed by readers of both genders. The writer Samantha Hunter gives us a romance inside of a mystery wrapped up into a thriller.

terrific romantic suspense

In Maryland, Jack White informs CIA undercover operative Daniel MacAlister that he might have to eliminate former superheroine Risa Remington. Daniel makes it clear to his superior he detest the assignment, but Jack who loathes it too tells him she could prove a major security risk. Last year Daniel and Risa infiltrated a terrorist lab in Nevada, but an electromagnetic blast caused her to lose what made her valuable to the agency; her ability to read minds. Jack directs Daniel to try helping her adjust to the normal world, but if he fails he is to kill her. Daniel visits Risa pretending to see how she is doing. They quickly fall into bed as he cannot resist her sexual lure. As they make love, however, his sexual strokes apparently activates her superpowers, which means she will be able to read his secret agenda if he continues to touch her, something he craves doing. This is a terrific romantic suspense thriller with a touch of the paranormal and starring a delightful lead pair. The story line is fast-paced as the protagonists fall in love, but his assignment must come before his feelings and desires. The twist of the sexual trigger is devious, brilliant and fun as Samantha Hunter entertains readers with a wonderful tale. Harriet Klausner

A romantic tale with a superhero twist...

This book is by far Ms. Hunter's best work. The character development and plot are top-notch making the story much more than the average romantic tale. A great read for those who enjoy general fiction, as well as romantic novels.
