i loved it!!!

I am a great fan of Sweet Valley. i have started reading (and collecting) the books when i was really young starting with sweet valley kids, till now with sweet valley university. even though i had read better books, and keep my favorate book at the carnival ghost, part of the sweet valley twins series, i thought this book was a hit. i really like how they discribe every part of her adventure from the sights and sounds in the airport the the streets of london england. even though the adventure she took was a little to Coincidental(i dont know if that is spelled right) i am proud that she is on her own(finally). it basicallystarts out when elizabeth catches her sister kissint her boyfriend. little did she know jessica was saving her from loseing her verginity with the wrong guy. instead Elizabeth hops on a plane to london with her schallarship, which she is soon to realize when she gets there has been taken by someone elce cause she hasent responded by the dead line. so she gets stuck on the street with barley any money. and to her surprie she gets a job for a family of royalty as a made. hope you enjoyed the book as much as i did.

It's about time LIZ

I really loved this book. The SVU series were getting really boring with the same old crap!!In this book, a big misunderstanding (involving Jess trying to protect Liz and keep her from losing her virginity to the wrong guy) leaves Elizabeth no other altenative than to leave....not just Sweet Valley, but the whole damn country!!! After all she got accepted to the University of London on scholarship, but when she gets there she realizes she didn't send back her reply form. Now she is broke, has no place to stay or go, and by chance stumbles upon a job working in a mansion for rayalty (just lords and ladies nothing big). She meets new people, and lives a different life. Why do I like this book? It is a change of pace. Liz is finally growing up. This book is mature, funny, and it's just really good. I like the new characters, especially Vanessa, she is kinda mean but you'll find out why later on in the series. All in all , this book is funny, good, and a real good addition to the Liz and Jess saga.

Where's the real Sweet Valley?

I'm going to be totally honest here: the book was very good, and I'd recommend it to any SVU fan, but otherwise I'm really unhappy with the turn that the series has taken lately. I understand that Francine has to keep the reality going, but in all honesty I miss Nick, Izzy, Danny, Winston, and the way that things used to be for the twins. Call me sentimental, but it's just the way I am. The Elizabeth series might be exciting, especially with Max, Vanessa, Alice, and Sarah Pennington there to spruce it up, but it's still not Sweet Valley. And what bugs me is that we are not going to get to hear about Jess or the other characters at this rate, either. Does anyone feel this way? Please write me a message and let me know if you agree!

Best SVU in ages!!

This has to have been the best SVU book(OK,Elizabeth book!) I've read in waaaay tooo long!!Its exciting, and unlike Freshman year, its pretty realistic. And I'm glad to see that they included Jess too.I like the way Liz is turning out in this new series. She seems to be becoming a lot stronger, and more independant. And I kind of understand her anger at her parents, and she definitely needs to spend some time away from her family. You can really identify with her pain, and Jessica's.It was cool to see Liz living for herself, for a change, and not giving a damn about anyone else.In every SV series Liz has been worrying about other people, and spending her time getting Jessica out of messes she's too old to be in,instead of giving herself room to grow as an individual, and break away from all the unrealistic expectations of her. I really liked the way they've described London through Liz's eyes.I couldn't believe how accurate the descriptions were. The Landmarks, their locations, everything's spot on!I was expecting a major Blooper-fest!!!Downing street really is on the way from parliament to the University of London. And Madame tussaud's really is near the UoL.Cept they've probably romanticised London a bit too much.It isn't half as British as its made out to be. And I like that the twins are both in Real-life situations, like not having any money, instead of ther usual hunted-by-psychos rubbish!I'm really looking forward to the rest of this series, and if the other books are this good,i'm pretty sure I'll buy all the books. And I love the new covers.I was a little shocked at first, but once u get used to them,u can see that they're pretty imaginative, and very well designed. Not like the old, boring covers. It was a good Idea to super-impose real London monuments on an illustrated background

Surprising.

Considering the fact that the last four SVU books (the diaries of Sam, Jessica, Elizabeth, and Chloe) were awful (and I'm being nice here)with the exception of the Chloe book, which was just plain bad, I was very, very surprised with this new series. I was disappointed with the cover and am saddened that Ms. Pascal has decided to go back to drawings instead of photographs. However, the statement about not judging a book by it's cover is so true, especially with this book. I have never been to London, and was very delighted with Elizabeth's perception of the city. It was refreshing that everything did not go exactly as planned and kind of reminded me a little of a movie (the Very Thought of You) with a gorgeous British actor (Joseph Fiennes)in that Elizabeth left the U.S. with very little thought or planning. I've read Sweet Valley books since i was in the fourth grade, and this one is one of the best I've ever read. Sometimes it amazes me that the same author that wrote the horrible diary books also wrote this one. It has quickly become one of my favorite Sweet Valley books and will probably remain a favorite for years to come. I am anxiously awaiting the next book, though I am wondering: are they going to come out with a Jessica series too? That would be interesting.
