Was the 1994 crash of the American Eagle flight 4184 the inevitable result of an appalling lack of concern among government and airline officials? This account, by a key player in the subsequent... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I have read the book and feel it is a very compelling story of tragedy resulting from corporate negligence. I remembered the general story of this flight when it happened and had no recollection of the way this disaster was handled by American Airlines. The book seems true to the factual accounts and is backed up by federal records. I met Mr. Fredrick and know the passion that he has for passengers' rights and those of the families left behind after tragedy. This other yahoo who had negative to say about his motives seems to be venting sour grapes. I highly recommend the book!
an excellent first hand account of a doomed flight

I just finished Stephen Frederick's detailed account of Flight 4184 and would like to note two major points that remain in my mind: first, thank god that he had the courage to step foward and tell the real story. And second, this story confirms 100% in my mind that the FAA is completely incapable of protecting the flying public as long as they are also in the job of promotion. This accident should never have happened. For once I hope the lawyers have a field day!!!!
Informative, I couldn't put the book down.

The book took a step by step aproach to the Roselawn disaster. It was very informative, and I couldn't put the book down. The author spoke through a pilot's perspective and let the reader feel every moment of the disaster. The details and aviation terms were explained fully by the author to let you understand them. The book explained why air safety is not at its upmost. I would recommend the book to anyone who wants to know the story of American Eagle 4184. It is a definite 10.
An important book about the politics of tragedy

Stephen Fredrick's book on flight 4184 tells an impotant story of international and domestic politics that far outstrip the concern for the publics safety. A true eyeopener, it shows that while the fedral government "deregulate" the airlines, the airlines still regulate the government. Shame on our government,Shame on AMR Corp. Read this book.
Exciting, compelling page turner.

The author of this book is obviously attached to the story yet his work seems to be very well balanced on a journalistic level. I have read many non-fiction works of late and found Unheeded Warning to be one of the most fascinating and riveting of any of my recent reads. When the author takes you inside the cockpit and cabin of the doomed airliner, you actually can feel your heart beat increase, your hands sweat and your mind race. Although the outcome is known and irrevocable, I found myself praying th
