A different angle at making Law of Attract. more effective

Many of the reviewers who gave a low rating might have read the principles from a more limiting perspective, and I can see how that might happen. If most of the material that they had read before this one was based more on pragmatic everyday goal-setting advice, they may miss the metaphysical implications, which is totally understandable After reading this book over three years ago, and then reading material on Quantum Physics, and its connection with our Mind, as well as the effects of thoughts and emotionalized focus on the actual physical manifestation of things, I think I got the message on the second read. I loved not only Hernacki's personal story, but also the way he presented the concepts of how you can easily block the outpicturing of your goals by having a hesitant, or worse, attitude relating to taking steps toward the goal.If I could sum up the reason why I mention in my listmania list why this is unusual among metaphysical books, it's in the way he instructs how to avoid projecting mental blockers into the Universe (which affect physical reality). These blockages are caused by you picturing in your mind possible painful steps you think you might have to take toward your objective, and then putting your foot down refusing to do that one possibly painful thing. The Law of Attraction is neutral, and pays attention to any hesitant energy. If you emotionally agree to yourself that you are - body, mind, and soul - willing to do *anything*, you most likely won't have to do *most of the work* toward your goal. It's a paradox. It's worth reading the book to elaborate for you what I'm summarizing here. He includes quotes by Emerson, and the really good quote by Goethe (Providence moves with you when you show boldness), to help support his points.

Remarkably Effective Advice

Hernacki's book starts out with the highest of pretensions, and I was admittedly skeptical. How can a sub-100 page book provide the "ultimate secret"? The book is slim (I read the book in less than one hour), but I have been digesting the contents of the book, and applying the principles for the past few weeks with remarkable results. The principle underlying the book can be succinctly stated:You must be willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish what you wantSome qualifiers:(1) Hernacki notes that you may ultimately not need to do very much to accomplish your goals, but you must be mentally willing to do anything it takes. For example, you may not need to move to New York City and uproot your family to become an investment banker, but you must be willing to do anything that it takes to accomplish your goal, including taking risks. (2) In order to be willing to do anything it takes, you should feel that you are actively controlling your life. You should feel responsible for how things are today, and how they will be tomorrow.(3) You must have a clear sense of your objective. Rather than say you want to be a millionaire describe how you are going to get there. Have an actionable goal and sub-goals if needed.(4) View your commitment to your goal not as a self-imposed burden, but a "feeling of confidence" that you will continue to pursue the goal, because that is what you want.(5) Thoughts (including a desire to do whatever it takes) attract their physical equivalent. For example, if you think you are hungry, then you'll have a Whopper in your hand before you know it. (6) There is a virtuous cycle in attaining your goal. Once you get closer to your goal, the easier the task becomes.(7) Keep an open mind, and believe that you can achieve your goal.Overall worth purchasing, and if you apply the above principles you may see similar changes in your life as I have seen in mine.Paul Erdos

100% agree with Washington DC review

I completely agree with the review given by the reader from Washington DC, this books serves to clarify and strengthen Dr. Hill's philosofy put forth in Think and Grow Rich. It is obvious that Hernacki has read and digested T & GR and takes the secret Hill hinted at to a new level by explaining it in a whole new light. The theory of thoughts as things which are subject to the laws of physics has already been proven by scientists working with handicap patients. These scientists have been able to get paralyzed patients to write letters via computers that have sensors conected to the patients head, not implants mind you, just surface conections. These patients are then able to move a mouse on the screen through their thoughts, proving that thoughts are real physical things that have an impact on the physical world. Hernacki's use of the law of attraction and the phenomenon of accelerating acceleration give the secret even more legitimacy. This is an outstanding continuation of Dr. Napoleon Hill's classic Think and Grow Rich.

Amazing. A life-changing concept properly explained.

This book lives up to its cover promise. The "ultimate secret" is revealed early on, and the rest of the book reinforces it so that it is fully understood. The same concept is contained in most other "success" books, but never so clearly and sharply stated. Here's a case where a small book gives a big wallop. I think this book will be worth even more to someone who has already read and digested Napoleon Hill's classic "Think and Grow Rich". Mike Hernacki's "secret" actually further clarifies several parts of Hill's well-proven philosophy!

The title is ridiculous and absolutely accurate

I found a tape of The Ultimate Secret... in a Goodwill $2 bin, and bought it just for laughs. Turned out to be the most powerful and useful book I've ever found in the self-help field. It seems to be out of print, so snag one while you can.
