Book Overview

Ground beef is a staple in many homes. There are countless ground beef recipes and this cookbook compiles all your favorite and timeless recipes into one easy to use book. This is family pleasing homestyle cooking. Included are recipes for casseroles, skillet meals, main dishes, burgers, soups, tacos, meatloaf, sandwiches and more. I am sure you will find this cookbook handy in more ways than one. With over 250 recipes, you will find a meal for most any occasion. Whether you prefer a homestyle meal or something quick & easy, you will find numerous recipes to serve your family. Casseroles are a huge favorite in my house. I make casseroles several times a week. They are perfect for busy families. Casseroles can be made ahead and reheated when ready to eat. On days where life does not allow us to eat together, a casserole is perfect.

Not for me...

I love to cook simple but good meals. I love to cook using vegetables, meat, herbs & spices, cream, eggs, flour, etc. I don't like using cans of cream of this or that soup to make a dish. There are far too many recipes using "cream of" soup as an ingredient. And I used to use that to cook, but I found out that real ingredients taste better and are not hard to use. For example, most cans of "cream of soup" are mainly made of oil and flour. But real cream of soup is made using real cream or at least whole milk. Another example is that making my own alfredo sauce from scratch is easy, tastes better and doesn't cost a fortune. And a little cream or half and half is better for you than lots of oil and flour. And don't get me started on the crazy high amounts of salt in those cans of "cream of soups!" There are a few recipes that look delicious. And I've kept them. But I gave the book to a thrift store so someone else can enjoy the recipes in this book. Like I said, it's not the type of meals I like to cook. And I like quick, inexpensive meals, just not with shortcuts that use "cream of soup". And I also love to cook one pot meals as well as casseroles... I just like using whole, real ingredients that I can trust are both delicious and good for my family. BTW, I don't use tofu. I'm not a vegetarian. I like real food that has pantry staples that are not costly. I'm not picky, but I do believe family meals can be yummy, inexpensive and good for you.
