After the first hundred pages, a definite page-turner.

I don't know exactly why, but I had a hard time getting into this book. It wasn't slow, really, and te plot was interesting, but I kept having to put it down, and wasn't al that eager to pick it up again. That is, until I got through the first 100 pages or so. Then, the book just kept going and I didn't put it down again till I was finished. I suppose when you've got sixty books in a series, and about 240 books in another series with the same character, stories can be hard to make interesting. This book, like many boks in this series, could've been shorter than it was. The bok's short on story and long on action, but it didn't bother me as much as it has in previous books. Unlike most books in the series, this one has no specific author's name attached to it. Chances are, it was a group effort by the writing staff of the series. I think I could pick out certain writers' styles in certain sections of the book, but they blended fairly seamlessly all the same. In short, it's by no means the best Mack Bolan bok I've ever read, but not the worst either. The plot involves a computer game where you play a serial killer who tries to make as many kills as possible. Cops and civilians give you extra points. Turns out there are many actual murders being committed in the same style as the game, and the game's chat roms for players who'd made it to level five were coded. Once a code was broken, it was revealed that these high-level chat rooms were planning centers for big murder. So who's called upon to infiltrate the game and find out what's really going on? Why, none other than our warrior himself, Mack Bolan. To tell more would be giving away an already slim storyline, so I won't. If you like this sort of thing, check the book out. If you've never read a Mack Bolan bok before, I'm not sure this one would be the best to start with.
