This book is written from the viewpoints of the doctor, scientist and teacher, all of whom the author is. Though concise, there is room in this paperback for chapters dealing with Peptic Ulcer Disease, NSAIDs and Ulcers, Lifestyle Causes and Factors, Symptoms and Diagnoses, Conventional Ulcer Treatments, Alternative and Complementary Treatments, A Natural Approach to Ulcer Treatment and Conclusions plus a helpful Glossary and extensive references. WHAT REALLY SETS THIS BOOK APART: "Ulcer Free" examines the likely candidates for treatment that you have tried or may have yet to try. Different medicines and classes of drugs are discussed and evaluated based on their efficacy, long-term effects on the human body and side effects. Even Traditional Chinese Medicine is included. Most importantly, a revolutionary new treatment using Zinc-Carnosine is examined in depth. Scientific studies are referred to through the entire text, and as books written for lay people go, this book includes some pretty good science.
