Traditional Chinese edition of Two Treasures: Buddhist Teachings on Awakening and True Happiness & Thundering Silence & Beyond the Self This description may be from another edition of this product.
I've got everything Thich Nhat Hahn has published. The first book I purchased of his was life transforming. "The Miracle of Mindfulness." All about being present in the moment. If you're washing dishes then wash dishes, and don't be planning on what you're going to do after the dishes are done. It really focuses you on the NOW, which is all we really have.
Real treasure

When I received the book I thought, "WOW, it's so small." Don't let its smaller size fool you, though. I have tried to stay with its challenge to study it deeply. Because of the profound wisdom contained in it, I have started to see my habitual reactions to people and situations in a much clearer light. This has brought about some much needed change. I read parts of this book nearly everyday now in order to check my perspective. This is a book to treasure, to savor, to memorize. There is something rich and new in each reading.
Obstacles Can Be A Form Of Liberation

One of my favorite books by Thay. Small enough that I can slip it into a pocket, and have jems of wisdom with me all day. One of the things that I appreciate most about Thich Nhat Hanh's teachings is how non-dogmatic they are. They are simple, practical, and applicable in our day to day routines, regardless of one's personal philosophical or religious leanings. I hadn't come across the sutra on the "eight realizations" before in any of his other books, but the teachings are of classic buddhist consepts that repeat themselves in other teachings; impermanence, suffering, non-self, mindfulness, the three gifts - they're all in here. Every once in a while we all need little reminders of what's truly important, and tips on how to put those "realizations" into practice in our daily lives. I am very thankful to have discovered these two treasures. Enjoy! Peace.
