Trouble in High Heels

Another excellent book by Christina Dodd. The reader is captured right from the start & will have difficulty putting it down until it's finished. It's a good escape from life's daily trials & tribulations. Unlike reality, everything comes out happily.

A Wickedly Sexy and fun read

Trouble In High Heels by Christina Dodd is a sultry and delightful story. Brandi Michaels has moved to Chicago to be near her fiancé. She is barely moved in when she finds out his is marrying another woman that he got pregnant. Brandi decides she is going to have one night in the arms of a stranger. Brandi thinks she has met that man at her honorary uncle Charles McGrath's home. The lady in red at his lawyer's private party intrigues Roberto Bartolini. When she offers him a night of passion with no strings attached, he does not pass it up. But they both are in for a shock when she has joined the law firm that is set to defend him against charges of being a jewel thief. Can Brandi trust this man with her heart as well as her life? When her life is threatened Roberto offers his wealth and home as a haven. These two have major trust issues to overcome. Will they be able to do that before danger catches up with them? Trouble In High Heels is an exceptional book. The chemistry between Roberto and Brandi ignites in every scene.

Fun and spirited romance/suspense

I absolutely loved this book and could not put it down. It's romance suspense at it's best. Handsome Italian paired with "cheeky" blond attorney. Plus the passion, well let's say they're combustible together! It's was like watching the Grace Kelly and Cary Grant movie, To Catch a Thief......jewelry heist, passion, intrigue and such intensity between two dynamic characters plus the Italian Mob. It's just another wonderful story penned by Christina Dodd.

The Perfect Slice of "Literary" Tiramisu!

What a great, enjoyable read! Tiramisu is that wonderful Italian dessert of espresso, rich cream cheese and elegant flavors that means "pick me up" in Italian. That image fits this charming book to a tee. Well done characters, especially the female lead, who (for a change!) when placed in a dangerous situation has the common sense to listen to a man who knows how to handle the situation. So often, weaker authors will have the female lead do something completely stupid just to prove her independance. Additional secondary characters are thought out and ADD to the plot, enriching the story and making the emotional connections reasonable and sweet. The sensuality between the lead couple is dynamite and I love any story that can use $8000 to justify not only a superior Spa Day but to underwrite an entire life change. Remember, this tasty little gem of a book is not meant for anything more than the best escape--putting too many expectations on the story could cause the lightness and fun to deflate like over-beaten whipped cream.

Witty, fast-paced, great hero, smart heroine

This book is simply the best contemporary Christina Dodd has written. I still like her hsitoricals better, but Brandi is a woman who gets angry at her ex-fiance and does something about it. I was really cheering for her. Then she realized how much in trouble she was, and the action takes off. Roberto was rich, privileged, and not what he seems at first, and I was able to put myself in Brandi's place as she stumbled on one piece of evidence after another. TROUBLE IN HIGH HEELS - two thumbs up.
