Trolls of Death

By John Mack

Every prince must make the Crossing.

He must enter the mountains alone, follow the ancient trail and reach the kingdom on the other side. No escort. No assistance. No exceptions.

For Prince Stephen, the journey is more than a ceremony. Somewhere beyond the guardhouse, the maintained road ends, the old warnings begin-and the trolls are waiting.

Steve has been prepared for the dangers of the Crossing all his life. Unfortunately, preparation and experience are not the same thing. The trail is difficult, the weather is uncooperative, and the traditions surrounding the journey may have preserved more than anyone realizes.

To complete the Crossing, Steve must learn to observe, adapt and keep moving-even when he is no longer certain what the real danger is.

Trolls of Death is a humorous fantasy adventure about an ordinary young man facing an extraordinary tradition, the unexpected people who maintain it, and the small things that can make the difference between failure and finding the way forward.

After all, there are trolls in the mountains.

The rest of the title may be an exaggeration.
