We are victors, not victims. This is a counter-cultural thought; do you believe that? Why we can overcome is because Christ has already overcome; we are victors because of the victory He has already won for His people. In this life, travails and hardship are sure. Our attachment to this world on the one hand and our lack of the eternal perspective on the other make this life harder than it needs to be. We often live as though the temporal blessings are the ends of what we seek but they are not! Our eternal blessings are so much more glorious that whatever we have enjoyed in this life are but shadows of them. Revelation unveils heaven for us to glimpse the triumph we have already had in eternity through Christ Jesus. Such vision enables us to endure hardship in this life with valour and purpose. Oh, grant us help against the foe, for vain is the salvation of man! With God we shall do valiantly; it is he who will tread down our foes (Ps. 60:11-12). Triumph and Endure is the power of God's way unleashed by this study. Don't settle for less when God has promised us so much more.
