We Loved It in Iowa

This book was a family choice and read by three of us while on a camping trip. The plot took us from court room to wilderness and back to court room. It was exciting and filled with suspense. The author made us smell the woods, hear the loons, rock in the canoe. We got caught up in the trial and agreed that we actually felt the tension in the court room during Jan Kyle's cross examination of the McLean family. Andereck knows how to develop strong characters. Some of them we loved and others we dispised. We recommend it for young and old alike.

This is a wonderful adventure story!

Trial at Grand Marais is such a good story. Read it and gave copy of the book to my son as a birthday present and he loved it too. Makes a great gift!

Grabs your interest and doesn't let go!

Living in Minnesota, but never having been to the North Short, I nevertheless really enjoyed the book. It's one of those books you don't want to put down from start to finish. A good story and good characters

A truly unusual and fascinating story.

Mr. Andereck has written a spell-binding story that also tackles some very important social concerns. Having been to the boundary water area, I can relate to his obvious love and respect for this beautiful place. But his greatest strength may be in his understanding of people. The characters are finely-drawn and full of humanity. I found myself thinking about them, even when I wasn't reading the book. The story leaves the reader with a greater understanding of cultural conflict and the role of law. Definitely a book worth reading!
