No one tells tales of the frontier better than Louis L'Amour, who portrays the human side of westward expansion--the good and the bad--before the days of law and order. Collected here are six stories... This description may be from another edition of this product.
The title of this book, Trailing West, does not include a story by that name. It does however contain the novel, The Trail to Crazy Man, which became Crossfire Trail when published in paperback in the mid 1950's. It is one of the finest of LL's early novels--which I consider his best with a few exceptions. In it the hero, Rafe Caradec, has to escape from a ship on which he had been shanghied; travel to Wyoming to satisfy a promise he had made to a dying man; and protect the dead friend's daughter from the man who wants her ranch. And all the while doing this against her wishes. It makes for a good story. All in all this collection is worth the price.
