Girl who plays tennis, succeeds in school and in family life

I remember Tracy Austin appearing on the Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson shortly after she achieved her first major success in tennis. She said that the reason she used two hands on the racquet was that when she first started playing she wasn't strong enough to handle it with one. Rather than waiting until she was strong enough, she found another way to play. This book is about her life, how tennis, school and family are all important to her. She was just as proud of her straight-A average as she was about her success in tennis. This is a strong message to young people, especially girls. No matter what else you do in life success in school will always be rewarding. The book is written for the young person and there are many photos of her playing, studying and just being herself. It also demonstrates the value of hard work, like nearly all successful athletes, Tracy practiced for hours, paying particular attention to a perceived weakness. There are many lessons for young people in this book and I recommend it for anyone, especially young girls, who need to be placed on the path to success.
