DEEP, REAL, SIMPLE FAITH

Pastor Rudy speaks straight from the heart out of his real life... He takes us to a deep place where God can reach into the recesses of our daily living and provide us with a way of hope and transformation. His simple faith gives courage to all who wonder how God could help in our particular circumstances! A great book to give to people who did not grow up around religion!

Inspiration for the masses ....

Not the typical book is an understatement - this book compels you to take action anywhere you see the undeserved - so in any community in the United States! This book also explains what it means to touch a life and how to keep that process moving forward. It encourages you to take a chance and live life a little more, reach out and touch those who need a friend and touch those who don't appear to be touchable. This book teaches the meaning of compassionate service. Compassionate service can mean making a phone call to someone you have been upset with for years and forgiving them or walking around the corner and buying a homeless person a hot cup of coffee on a cold day. As this book proves, it only takes one person to make a change.

Pastor Rudy's transparency is so refreshing! What an amazing story of transformation. How inspiring to see a ministry devoted to `the least of those' among us. This book will prick your heart and compel you to want to TOUCH those around you!

A Minister Who Is Really Following Jesus' Example!

I was profoundly moved by this book and found myself transformed by the experience of Rev. Rasmus and the work he has been called to do. Rev. Rasmus lives by what he calls a "love imperative " - to love God with all his heart, mind, soul and strength and to love his neighbor as himself. He has taken to heart Jesus's instruction to take care of "the least of these" and it is to them that he has devoted his life's work. The God that Rev. Rasmus presents is one of love and forgiveness. Rather than judgment, he preaches about God's "majesty and kindness," and the fact that He is "big enough and loving enough to reach into their deepest needs and change their lives." The most meaningful part of the book for me was when Rev. Rasmus talked about we humans doing the work of Jesus: "As we increasingly are gripped with Jesus' attitude, our actions will become more like His. Instead of pursuing comfort and prestige, we'll intentionally pursue ways to help those in need. Instead of being annoyed by people, we'll increasingly look beyond the annoyance to see a person God treasures." There are many ministers out there preaching positive messages of hope and prosperity. But if you want to read the words of someone who is living an authentic and transparent life - someone who is really trying to do "what Jesus would do" - this is the book.
