a nice addition

A nice addition if you've got a crochet library and a table cloth you've been wanting to wear. Com'on we've all done it and now it's fashionable!

Nice Book

I bought this book a year ago for my grandmother and she LOVES it. She's been knitting/crocheting for decades now and she loved the detailed pictures in this book. She's already made skirts for her three granddaughters and is itching to make us something more using the book! (And the designs are actually wearable!) I give the book 4 stars because the binding seems like it might fall apart very easily if not handled with care. Otherwise, good book!

A good variety of wearable patterns

I like this book, but it's not one of my favorites. It has clear, simple instructions (I found errors when I made the Shawl Collar cardigan but they were easy to fix). The patterns are current, basic and very wearable and the yarn choices can be easily substituted. I find that really nice yarns are needed when I do crochet to make them look updated. There are dresses, jackets, skirts and the usual assortment of accesories (shawls, hats, scarves). The photos are kind of old fashioned, but the garments are clearly displayed. Interesting stitch choices make the patterns more stylish than the freebie crochet patterns on the internet. Definitely worth a look.

It really IS fashionable.

This book has 19 patterns and I actually would love to make 14 of them. That's a very good ratio in my opinion!

Fantastic Book of Crocheted Clothing!!!

Yippeee, a book that has crochet pattterns that you can actually wear! Believe me, I have all the books and this one is A+. Gayle Bunn is an actual designer that actually designed the projects, not like some of the other books like,Stitch n Bitch, that uses patterns from many designers (with multitudes of mistakes). There are shawls, shrugs, wraps and scarves but the way they are constructed tells me Ms Bunn knows her stuff. There is a gorgeous green sun dress that uses a G/7 hook and cotton yarn, a luscious pansy garland scarf made of Reynolds Saucy and F hook, flowers and crocheted beads, a suit in a silk/cotton blend and H hook, a lace skirt made with Aunt Lydia's Fashion Cotton and an F hook, vest, bags (one felted), bikini and vest, a belt of chain loops made of Merino wool, and a flair sleeved cardigan. I love that this book uses easy to find materials. The topping on this sundae of a book is that there are numerous color UP-CLOSE photos of all the stitches. I urge you to buy this book! I am so happy I did and you will be too!
