As joyous mariachis celebrated the New Year, an unscrupulous Americancasino baron tiptoed into a Guadalajaran barn.He didn't seem to mind the ankle-deep manure as it matched the manure in his heart. He spotted Torito,the cutest baby bull in the whole country, and yanked him from his mudder's udder. The greedy tycoon whisked him away to Las Vegas, certain that adorable blue face would lure gullible gamblers to his Cash Cow Casino.For months, the sad and scruffy orphan was chained to a glittering pedestal and forced to pose for fawning tourist selfies. No one could resist the draw of Torito's heart-melting, one-toothed smile and soon profits for the wealthy kidnapper, Fatford Katt the Third, began to soar.But Torito's golden display pad happened to be in front of a massive, outdoor TV screen that blared Fox News 24/7. And as everyone knows, fuzzy, blue Mexican bovine are exceptionally fast learners. Torito learned English. He learned about hypocrisy and misogyny. He learned about xenophobia and homophobia and he learned about subtle dog-whistle racism. Torito made a decision. He knew that he could not break the steel of his hoof chains so he vowed to free his mind, seek the truth and advocate for justice. Torito began a Smile Strike until he received daily internet access. Fearing a Casino Crisis, Fat Katt III, grudgingly agreed and on April 16, 2016, Torito posted the manifesto that would define his new life:"I exist solely to expose the psycho Right-Wing insurgency currently infecting the nation."
