Excellent for pre-calculus

This textbook offers a great start-up course for someone not ready to jump fully into a mainline calculus class. I happened, also, to have a wonderful teacher while using this book; she offered helpful hints for solving problems: For the product rule in time, it's one prime two less one two prime, draw the line and down below, denominator squared will go. The book is more than 30 years old, but it's math -- which generally doesn't change, you know.
