How to find the Best Doctors: New York Metro Area

This was book was a lifesaver ! I found this as a good reference for a Cardiologist & Pulmonary Specialist & Endocrinologist. It's informative about the doctor's special interests, faculty positions,and HMO affiliations. Such things as telephone #, address made my search much easier. I had trouble with some other specialists categories like dermatology because the book doesn't measure bedside manner but overall I am very impressed with this book. It also provides excellent advice like picking a great internist to alleviate any trouble down the line when you have a problem that requires a specialist. It also explains in detail what each specialist does. Great Book ! A MUST HAVE when someone is sick and you need some sort of reference point. This is not a cure-all, you still need to interview the doctor, but it is the best and only good reference out there right now...

I found the guide exceptionally easy-to-use and filled with the educational, professional and administrative information critical to the doctor selection process. Every household should have a copy of this terrific reference.

Excellent resource for anyone seeking the best in medicine

The Castle Connolly Guide is an invaluable resource for women, men, children, of all ages. It is the book to turn to when seeking medical care in all the specialties. Easy to use, and reader-friendly, the book includes helpful sections of the ABMS Boards, selected resources, managed care organizations and hospital information by county. It is so difficult today to select a physician just from the directory your insurance carrier provides. Your first step should be the Castle Connolly Guide which can help you select a primary care physician as well as any specialist. Or, in the reverse, when someone recommends a doctor, first check on his credentials in the guide to find out if he is board certified, and by what board, where he went to Med School, which residencies were completed and in what program, and where he has hospital affiliations. I was surprised at the low price for all the information the book has to offer.Bravo Castle Connolly for producing the DEFINITIVE guide to doctors in the metro area.
