I was expecting a book about a very bright, pre-teen, homeschooled girl to be at the reading level of, well, a very bright, pre-teen, homeschooled girl. My daughter read through the whole series in a week. I also found the plots to be a bit too simple. I think Gilbert Morris let us down this time. My daughter prefers the Mandie books by Leppard. I gave it 4 stars because my daughter enjoyed them and they are the first early chapter books we've seen about homeschoolers.
Light and Enjoyable for the whole family!

Gilbert Morris has, again, proven himself as a wonderful writer of youth fiction! We had so much fun with the DIXIE MORRIS ANIMAL ADVENTURES series, that we were looking forward to another series by this popular Christian author. Mr. Morris writes stories that have the kids begging for "just one more chapter"! These books contain morals and good advise, as well as likable characters and amusing predicaments! The heroine, Juliet "Too Smart" Jones, saves the day, and might learn a lesson, too. What is she going to do when her friend's camera is missing after the pool party at her house? Did one of the other guests steal it? It couldn't be quiet Amos, could it? Juliet has just befriended the shyest kid in the Home School co-op. Amos finally opened up and started to be friendly. What will he do when he finds out that the other kids think he stole the camera? What can Juliet do? This book could be read by a child who likes "beginner chapter books", but is ready for a few more chapters and words, or read out loud to any child from age 5, or so. The lessons to be learned are about honesty, and being yourself, learning to be a loyal friend, and appreciating other people and their circumstances.
