The ship, however, turns out to be not what it seems: the Captain calls it a "Foreign Legion of the sea", radio communications to shore are limited and unorthodox, some of the crew are heard but not seen, tramp ship officers do not usually wear smart uniforms and never carry a surgeon, especially not a beautiful American Southern belle like Bobbie.
