Her story sadly entails what it means to have suffered childhood abuse. Perhaps most confusing is the fact that she was provided for and treated well in many aspects. However, she was handed the very heavy burden of keeping the secret about this abuse. Sorting out childhood is a journey for everyone. Sorting out childhood abuse is particularly challenging. After much counseling and help, she found the courage to begin to write as the memories came. Once the writing began more and more healing took place. Delia Rae knows that her story is sadly not that uncommon. But she believes with all of her heart that for her the Light has overcome the darkness that threatened her all of these many years. Her heart's desire is that those who read her story will be helped. Now it is "time to speak."
