A great guide for self pleasure. But it could've been more!

I had just read Sadie Allison's, "Tickle His Pickle: Your Hands-On Guide to Penis Pleasing," so I thought I'd give her companion, "Tickle Your Fancy: A Woman's Guide to Sexual Self-Pleasure," a try. When the book arrived, I was taken back by its size. The book is fairly small, being roughly the dimensions of a 5" x 7" note card with about 90 pages. But even so, it was still packed with information. The style of writing and the illustrations were both light and breezy. And the tone is meant to reassure women of the rightness of self-pleasure, the assumption being that women are somehow stymied in this area (and may instead live sexually through their men). Like Sadie's other book, the first half deals with background and preparation, (anatomy, exercise, and grooming), while the second half covers the physical aspects of the art, (different self masturbation techniques, and the use of sex toys). Sadie offers several clitoral stimulation methods (such as up-and-down, side-to-side, three-finger stroking, massaging and tapping, to name but a few). She also highlights the G-spot, and even shows a diagram on how to find it with your fingers. (`Thank you,' Sadie.) The author also explains how to use dildos and vibrators (dildos that buzz) -- and how to apply them to one's button - along with versions designed to stimulate the G-spot directly (these having an "L" shaped bend at the end to accomplish this). Looked at as a whole, this book is probably good at just de-mystifying those most intimate portions of a woman's body that we hardly ever talk about. And, just judging by some of the other reviews, many men have already found this little digest to be a handy `how-to' guide for giving feminine pleasure as well. It's in this area - of using masturbation as a sharing technique - where I think Sadie could've gone much further. Rather than having to figure this out for ourselves, I wish Sadie would've told us how to incorporate masturbation into our own love making sessions with our men - and perhaps with women as well. For younger girls, touching each other intimately can be a delightfully enhanced version of self-discover (as it was for me). Later, in a more serious relationship, it can be a less daunting erotic first step than say, oral sex. And in some ways it's even more intimate - because you can still talk and verbally communicate with your lover - while doing so. The other area where Sadie could've also provided more information was in the area of fantasizing. Although she deals with it briefly, she covers mainly the physical aspects of masturbation - rather than highlighting the emotional and aspirational role that fantasies play in our lives. Fantasies can help us to imagine - or prepare us for - those pleasures that we haven't yet experienced. Masturbation and fantasies go hand-in-hand, and I'm sure that many women might need some encouragement in this latter area as well. For me (and several of my girlfriends), mastur

All I can say is wow!!! I bought this book about two weeks ago in an attempt to improve my sexlife with my girlfriend. I didn't tell her I got the book and after about a week we were having some of the best sex we've ever had. A few days ago after an amazing night she asked how I suddenly new her inside and out. I just smirked and told her I was just that good. LOL! After a day of brutal interrogation I exposed my secret weapon. The funny thing is now she's reading it and we have a rejuvenated sex life. I definitely recommend this book, especially to guys lookin for the upper hand in the bedroom!

A sweet and informative book about self-pleasure.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well this book was put together. It's easy to read and there are lots of fun, helpful illustrations. I am a 36 year old woman in the mid-west and did not grow up feeling comfortable about sexuality. So I was looking to learn more about my body, and different self-pleasuring techniques. And that's exactly what Tickle Your Fancy taught me. I'm glad this book is available-it helped me open up a great deal. I'd recommend it to any woman, no matter what your age (don't feel bad-there are still many of us who never learned how to do this on our own!).

More than a joke!

I purchased this book as a joke for a friend, but before I wrapped it up, my curiosity got the best of me and I started to read through the book. I was so surprised at how easy it was to read. I was expecting it to be like a medical text book or something, but it was so easy to understand. I suggest this book for not only a woman, but also for men (like me) because it will teach them all the tricks they'll ever need to bring a woman to complete ecstasy. My friend never did get the copy of the book, I decided to keep all these great secrets for myself. Thanks Tickle Kitty!

Easy and Fun

This book gets its point across. It has cool illustrations that are not cheesy but quite helpful. The text is written in language anyone can understand, not medical terms. I would recommend this book to anyone exploring their own sexuality or just wants to enhance sex.
