Thyroid nodules

Thyroid nodules are frequent pathologies and present a common clinical problem. The challenge in their evaluation is to find the right balance between over-treatment, and the risk of missing a thyroid cancer. The management of thyroid nodules must be multidisciplinary, involving endocrinologists, radiologists, pathologists and ENT surgeons.Diagnostic strategies were gradually developed to minimize the percentage of nodules requiring surgical management, so that only suspected nodules were operated on. Alongside cervical ultrasound, CPAF is the cornerstone of these strategies for exploring thyroid nodules.
