After Kathlyn lost her younger and only sister, Krissa, to leukemia and her parents in an auto accident, she sells her country childhood home and moved to Evans City, thinking the city will do her good. She is saddened to hear her childhood boyfriend, Chad, whom had promised to be her friend "foreve" is dating a girl. She had hoped their life together would have been "foreve", also. She struggles and struggles over "losing" him and tries so hard to forget him but it is so difficult Finding a job in the office of a clothing store she soon found that some of the girls with whom she worked were surprisingly into things she did not agree with. She did find some friends who, even though did not believe as she did, at least respected her. She enjoyed her time together with them. Wanting to find a good holiness church to go to she looked through a telephone book. Finding Bethel Holiness Chapel she pondered on whether it would be desirable or not. It might be just a little old store front church with mismatched pews and musty carpeting. She wasn't too keen on that idea. But after not finding anything else she decied to call the parsonage. The sweet pastor's wife directed her to the church. Kathlyn was so excited to see it that she decided to go find it before she attended there. She found it was a nice, well kept country church and decided to attend there on Sunday. Everyone was so kind and cordial to her and she loved the singing and pastor's sermon. It was just the kind of church she was looking for. Leaving the church she encountered the most handsome man she could ever imagine. He came over to greet her and a relationship between them slowly began. She thought she would never get over Chad but now Greg was taking up her thoughts. Kathlyn wonders if he really does care for her though or does he treat other girls the same. She finds out that he has taken a two week trip overseas but has no idea where he went or what for. She decides that probably Greg treats all the girls the same and he has a girlfriend somewhere else. She doesn't want to get hurt again.......then he shows up at a concert she is attending and asks to sit with her. WOW But...there is competition Caroline has eyes for him also. She gets an invitation to go to her cousin Shandra's home for Thanksgiving. She has not seen Shandra amp; Jason, her husband for several years. She had not met their 3 year old twin girls, Hannah amp; Rachel yet so she was excited to be able to visit with them and spend a holiday with family. Before she arrives she is held up by an accident. She is inspired to talk and help, however she can, the woman amp; 2 children who are sitting in the median strip and to witness to them about God's love for them. While at Shandra's home she hears some missionaries from Africa speak. She tells Shandra about a couple of mission trips she has taken. One to Africa and one to Haiti. She also enjoys her time with family members and a great time with the twin girls. On her way home she thinks of Greg again. He is sooooo handsome. Would he ever care for her? Did she have any hope? Greg begins to think more about Kathlyn. Would she be the right girl for him? He wanted a Christian wife, that was important But he had to know God's will. He prays desperately about her. He sure liked her appearance and Christian principles. But decides he will have to give her up. While helping his pastor with a furnace problem in the church the pastor tries to help Greg with his need for a wife like Kathlyn. When Greg leaves, he decides to stop for a milkshake. Who should be there but Kathlyn with 2 girlfriends. He decides it is only right to join them. With Christmas nearly upon her she decides to spend her Christmas alone, even though a couple girlfriends invite her to their places. Christmas day she put on Christmas music and enjoys her day, thankful she had stayed home with the snowstorm that was pelting them. All was quiet for sometime until she hea
