Thou Shalt Not Tempt the Lord

One man is upset with the way his life is going. His family is on the verge of falling apart, keeping a good job is difficult, rent is difficult to come up with, and his relationship is unstable. Fed up with the way life is turning out, Kamaal turns to throwing aside faith and betting against God. He boldly professes to God "I would make a better God than you." Feeling that his words have still gone unnoticed, Kamaal continues to boldly claim himself as a more just God and frequently states, "If I had the chance I bet I'd do a better job than you." Finally deciding that Kamaal deserves a wake-up call, God takes Kamaal aside and accepts Kamaal's wager. God gives Kamaal the opportunity he has been waiting for; however, Kamaal is given the responsibility of looking after his family before he was ever born. The only rules are that Kamaal cannot reverse time, cannot alter anyone's mind, and cannot make anything happen in plain sight. Kamaal happily accepts the opportunity and commences to actively craft his family's life. However, he soon learns that all his efforts to make the future better are backfiring and only tearing his family apart more than before. When Kamaal's own future existence becomes threatened by his actions, he finds a new appreciation for what he had and must find a way to make things right again before it is too late.
