The ramifications of the Battle of Worcester can still be felt over 350 years on and it is very easy to forget that the battle affected real people. Not just the thousands that died or the thousands that were taken prisoner but people of Worcester. Citizens of Worcester who had the misfortunes to reside where "...England's sorrows began, and where they are happily ended". Thomas Tomkins was one of those people. A man who's job was not that of a soldier, politician or commander. He was a citizen of Worcester.
