Great look at how the Bible describes being a "man."

Pres Gillham touched a chord in my life as I analyze my role as a Christian, husband and father. Today's culture bombards us with its expectations of the American male and the correlated "accepted" behaviors. Pres takes a close looks at what he envisions is God's take on being a man. It is not a surprise that this compassionate, loving, submissive-to-God definition of a man flies in the face of the worldly view. Pres pours out his heart and will take some heat for doing so. However, as a 40 year-old father of three, I have walked down some of the same trails as Pres and received great encouragement from his book. The book is not a Bible study but more an opportunity to read one man's perspective on living a Godly life in a world attempting to deny His existience.

Fantastic and insightful! Delightfully Informative!

Many of the books I have read, if not most, clearly demonstrate the author's lack of knowledge because the words on the pages for meaning that does no more than scratch the surface of the topic they profess to be experts on.I view books such as that like reading the pages of someone's journal whereabouts on page 24 you would find their minute understanding of the immense iceberg they passed while standing in the crisp sea air on the bow of a ship. The description scribble lacks any sort of depth, character, or true discernment of the fact that the 800 ton piece of shimmering ice they saw "bobbing" about on the surface was but the tip of what in fact was an 8000 ton mountain of ice. Many authors have about 10% of the knowledge needed to produce an informative and educational manuscript.Pres is NOT one of those authors, and Things Only Men Know is NOT one of those books!Press not only touches the surface, but he dives from the ship decked out in an arctic mini-sub, back-up SCUBA gear, full scientific instruments, sonar, and measuring devices. He realizes there is more to the iceberg that needs to be understood and it is found deep bellow the surface. He charts it. Maps it. Photographs it. Analyzes it. And spits all of the data he collected out in the form of a wonderful book that serves to educate, enlighten, and entertain.
