They Came From Nowhere
Juni knows her family is different. As the daughter of a noble-born mother and a common father, she learned early on that small-town gossip would always surround them. Troubling her most is her little brother, Milo, and how strange things seem to happen when he's around. Juni knows she must protect him, and shield him from the prying eyes of their provincial community.
Then, she's kidnapped.
Trapped in an underground facility, she becomes the object of an unusual experiment. Visibly changed, were she ever to return home, she knows she'd never be accepted. Rather than try to escape, she follows her kidnappers' plan, knowing that, in this new world of rules and regulations, her only chance of survival is to remain subservient.
Years later, she seizes an opportunity to work for her captors' organization and uncovers the hidden purpose behind their research. Remembering his bizarre abilities, she realizes Milo was their intended target all along.
To keep her brother safe, she must break free from the organization's grasp and unlearn everything she's been conditioned to think of him, his abilities, and the nature of the world itself.
