This book makes you literally hold your breath.R.L. Stine keeps you guessing of the up coming events in the story. I really liked the book for that and the fact that it was a mystery book really made me interested. I recommend this book to mystery lovers.

Mother/Daughter Book Club Review

Laura is the daughter of divorced parents. She and her father, a vetenarian, love animals and the woods. That's why their home is situated near the forest. Laura is pretty happy with this life until strange things start to happen. She comes across odd creatures that scare her. She hears cries from the forest at night, and her father starts to behave strangely, and she loses trust in him.I, personally, found this book to be very exciting. The girls did as well. (These girls are all about aged 9.) The other mothers, however, found it too gruesome to stomach. This definitely isn't a book for those with weak stomachs.
Something is not right in Laura's home.

When Laura's parents divorced five years ago and her mother moved to Chicago, Laura decided to remain with her father, where she could be close to the woods she loved. But Laura's beloved home is changing in terrifying ways. Her father has become strangely distant, and spends most of his time in a locked-up old shed. The wildlife in the woods is acting strangely, as if disturbed by something or someone. And Laura has glimpsed strange creatures. Laura soon becomes convinced that her father may be involved in some twisted, inhumane experiment - and she makes the mistake of deciding to investigate. But Laura will soon learn that sometimes it's better to mind your own business - and she may pay be forced to pay the price of her nosiness with her own life. Because the truth she uncovers is one that someone will kill to keep buried.

The sixth book in the nightmare room series is not as good as dear diary i'm dead. But the story is yet the best one in the series. I think r. l. stine just didn't handle it as well as i would have expected but it is very good and so is the ending.
