Geraldine McCaughrean is brilliant

Without changing the story this retelling of the myth of Theseus adds the human elements to the characters. Geraldine McCaughrean adds personality to the tale as unobtrusively and naturally as tellers of this story in the oral tradition probably did for thousands of years to make it a loved favorite. Her humor, wordplay and beautiful descriptions highlight the charm of the myth that is so easy to overlook in other translations.
