Book Overview

Theodosia Throckmorton is in a fix.

Allowed to attend a reception given by one of the directors of her parents' museum, she stumbles across Mr. Tetley of the British Museum--in most unusual circumstances Since Theo has last seen him in a showdown in an ancient Egyptian tomb, his reappearance could mean only one thing: the Serpents of Chaos are back.

In this second book in the popular series, Theodosia will once again have to take on secret societies, evil curses, and magic too sinister to imagine, especially if it falls into the wrong hands. Blocked at every turn, Theodosia will have to rely on her own skill and cunning--along with a little help from the most unexpected places.

This highly praised, exciting middle grade series is a must for fans of mysteries, humor, and nonstop action.

With a legendary magical artifact loose in the museum, Theodosia's problems are just getting started.

Sucks you in fast!

i fell in love with Theodosia in book #1 and quickly ordered this #2. It could not get here fast enough! The beginning of this book sucked me in with a crazy scenario. I love her wit and intelligence, she is quick on her feet for a 10 year old. Her uptight grandmother is trying to force a new governess on her, good luck with that! She calls Theodosia impertinent for speaking her intelligent mind, which is sad, because she is just observing and speaking the truth. Fine.. Color me impertinent then! If you love Egyptian history, this is a MUST READ series. Adults will love it too (personally speaking). Her father also is reminiscent of Elizabeth Peters' Amelia Peabody series. He reminds me of Emerson in his mannerisms and he is also an archaeologist.
