The Wizard and the Wrench is a conversation of love poems between Ambika Devi and Dominic Albanese, two poets who met at an open mic on Dominic's birthday and discovered an unexpected kinship through words.
Moving back and forth across the pages, their musings explore the many places love finds a home: in water and fishing, nature and memory, human connection, the cosmic and the commonplace, and the strange beauty of being alive. One voice responds to another, creating a lyrical conversation between two distinctive perspectives and two very different ways of seeing the world.
Individual pieces appear without the authors' names beneath them. Instead, a tiny wizard's hat identifies Ambika's voice, while a wrench marks Dominic's, a playful visual language that carries their exchange throughout the book.
Art and photography gathered from an eclectic circle of creative souls weave another visual voice through the conversation.
The Wizard and the Wrench celebrates the things that capture our hearts, from the earthly to the ethereal.
