This is a book worth rereading several times. It offers an excellent history of both Western and Eastern cooncepts and understanding of life energy and healing traditions. It uses simple, clear language to express deep spiritual concepts from many different cultures and beliefs. I would recommend it to anyone interested in psychology, wholistic health and spirituality.

This book is not summer beach reading. However, it is an excellent treatment of the history of energy from the standpoint of various cultures. The book also discusses the physics of "life energy", which is Dr. Sabetti's definition of the vitalistic concept of the force that brings all things into activity. Esentially, life energy is the medium that activates everything and brings an aliveness to all things and processesIn short, the book is an excellent interpretation of the impact energy has on our personal existence, including awareness and consciousness. It may best be viewed as a research vehicle, since it ties what can be an indistinct topic into one that is relevant to the many thinkers, philosophers, psychiatrists, and physicists who have weighed in on this weighty topic.Long before it became popular to discuss wholeness and the "New Sciences" by "New Age" authors, Dr. Sabetti was actively doing research in his personal practice. This work stands the test of time, though it may not have received the public acclaim and marketing that others have managed.
