Their lives were not without bumps, but Fred's desire to be a great detective, in spite of his success in his business life, keeps the plot thickening and scrambling. While Fred has a long and productive career as a machinery designer, Charlie stumbles into serious problems that have consequences for his life. The book ends with their move to the small growing town of Jerrod Idaho, a place you will never find on a map.
