Awesome read! Couldn't put it down!

Amy Benjamin draws you into her world immediately, and makes you feel like she is speaking directly to you. Anyone who has struggled through a difficult relationship, a life-threatening illness, or intense personal introspection will have no trouble relating to her. She manages to eliquently depict feelings every woman has experienced, but may not be able to verbalize! I hope this is the first of many writings by this author. I loved it! I want more! This book totally knocked my socks off. What an amazing woman! Her story flows thru the pages and I could not put it down. It's unbelievable to me that she was able to illustrate the accomplishments and hardships in her life in a way that simply kept me captivated. Oprah should check this out, so she can spread the word.

What a ride......

I read this book on a recent trip to Portland. My travel companions became jealous that I was not spending time with them, I was totally engrossed in the story! Every once in a blue moon you read something so powerfully and insightfully written, you feel transported into the writer' existence. You feel as though you are standing right there, breathing the same air, feeling the same rush of emotion or touching the same object. The feeling is so delicious, that even if the writer is in distress, you simply cannot pull yourself away until you finish it and have resolution. This is such a book. I laughed (out loud, especially about Florida) cried and ultimately held my breath until the very end!
