The Two Princes Who Melted Winter

By R C Balhana

A timeless fairy tale. A frozen kingdom. And a love powerful enough to melt even the strongest curse.

In the beautiful kingdom of Everdane, Prince Arthur grows up unaware of the terrible spell cast upon him as a baby: on his eighteenth birthday, a single touch of a magical frostrose will freeze his heart, and every living soul in his kingdom along with it.

Far beyond the mountains lives Prince Magnus, a young adventurer who Arthur has never met. What begins as an exchange of reluctant royal letters slowly becomes friendship, laughter, and something neither prince quite knows how to name. But when the curse finally strikes and Everdane disappears beneath an eternal winter, Magnus refuses to leave Arthur to his fate. He crosses the frozen mountains to find the prince he has come to love. And both discover that the magic of true love is stronger than any curse.

The Two Princes Who Melted Winter takes the magic, adventure, wicked sorceresses, enchanted kingdoms and happily-ever-afters of traditional fairy tales and gives them a new twist: this time the prince is saved by another prince.

Created as part of a vision for more inspiring and diverse fairy tales, this beautifully illustrated story gives children and adolescents LGBTQ+ characters and positive, diverse role models to grow up with - while telling, above all, a magical story about courage, friendship and the extraordinary power of love.

Because every child deserves to find someone like themselves in a fairy tale - and to know that their story can end happily ever after, too.
