A Great Message

I bought this book several years ago and have read it to my grandchildren as a bedtime story. I was delighted when my 10 year old grandson placed it on his Christmas wish list this year. It presents a great model for children (1) that it's ok to be different and (2)you can achieve anything if you have confidence.

A true work of art

I love this story! The author did a beautiful job delivering a message of confidence. I would definitely recommend reading this book, especially to children.

"Crow like you own the world"

CON-FI-DENCE, a word and idea that is somewhat ignored now-a-days. This great little book conveys the message that being "unique" is not such a bad thing after all. By looking at the world or one's situation from a different angle, a perceived negative can indeed become a positive, shame can turn into pride, ignorance into acceptance. Parents would be wise to spend some time sharing this story with their young children and hopefully it will rekindle a small fire in their souls as well. Having the pleasure of meeting the author I can see where the energy of her message comes from; I'm sure that her influences will be felt by many now and for years to come.

A beautiful, inspirational book

I am so pleased with this book done by fellow Georgians. The wonderful story in this little book by Eva Haynes, an elementary school teacher, will surely encourage many children and promote their self-confidence. And the beautiful and comical drawings are worth the price of the book. I have been told that the 10th grader Kelly Bozarth, the illustrator, was only 13 when she did this work. Both the author and illustrator have my highest praise.

Illustrations and story are Superb!

I first read about The Turkey that Crowed in our local paper, and decided to take my two grandaughters to the Haynes and Bozarth book signing. The book with its "character building" story and the beautiful illustrations is both touching and comical. The little book impressed me so much that I purchased several copies of the book for the young members of my extended family. I understand that this is the first work by the author, Eva Johns Haynes, who is a kindergarten teacher in a public school in middle Gerogia. I was very surprised to learn that 15 year old Kelly Bozarth, the illustrator, was only in the 7th grade when she did the art work. Both she, and the author, have a great future ahead.
