This book helped me change my life

When I read this book I was in a marriage that took away truck-loads of my self esteem and self respect. Exactly Roberts' point: That was the price I was paying for love. No, it wasn't worth it. Having read the book that described so accurately what I was feeling, I found the courage to be a single woman again.Very few writers tackling the contemporary relationship issues have managed to emphasize enough the importance of keeping one's integrity and self respect in a relationship (especially marriage) and point out the dangers of not doing so. Yvonne Roberts has mastered this! A very sensitive topic, beautiful narration and a novel that has ability to LIBERATE the reader.Eagerly awaiting the 3rd novel and thanking the writer for doing so much for my ego!

Makes you wonder why marry at all

About 30 years old and still single. What a disaster, you might think. But after reading "The trouble with single women" I worry no more. This book made me think why marry at all. Women all over the world live their lives to fulfill other's expectations and sacrify their own happiness for the wellbeing of their men. And then they nag and complain most of their lives, but still rather stay married than on their own. After reading this book, you may change your mind about staying in a unsatisfying relationship and have the courage to do what is good for you and stop living for other people. While reading this book I laughed and cried and when I finished I felt good about being single. And like the main character says "I'll stay single until I grow up and stop falling for the Mr. Wrongs"
