The Traveling Spark

One cold night on the shores of a rocky beach, a little fire watched the ocean. The little fire wondered, "What's out there? All I've ever seen is this ocean and the man who lit me." After listening to words spoken by the man-words like love, family, and home-an inquisitive spark lifted into the air from the fire and set out on a journey to explore the wonders of the world. Burning with a curious passion for discovery, the little spark ultimately finds that what he desires most in life is a simple place to provide warmth-a place called home.

Rachel Sedlacek created this story while playing a "write a short story" game with her siblings. She was born and raised on her parents' dairy farm in Northwestern Wisconsin. She loves spending time with her nieces and nephews. Rachel currently resides in Eau Claire WI, and works as a dental lab technician.
