The Tethered God

By Noah Brisk

Book Overview

The gods of Ashkareth built their world on blood and silence.

Someone else's blood.

Someone else's silence.

Brann spent fourteen years drinking away the things he'd done-what the gods demanded, what the temple required, what his bond was built on. He was done with all of it. Then a name he buried came back to find him. And something older than the gods began to speak.

Now he must learn the horror of what it means when the thing the gods fear most call him by name.

Amazing Dark Fantasy

I absolutely loved this book from start to finish. The characters, the setting, the magic system, and the BBEGs were all so engaging and interesting. Noah does an amazing job of immersing you into the world he has created. The character development has me really attached to the personalities on the page and I felt myself not wanting it to come to an end because I wanted to spend more time with the characters. Now for the action! Noah writes action in a way that had me turning page after page after page to see where things were going to land and what was going to happen next. This book is all has no brakes from start to finish. The battles are bloody and graphic but in a way that feels necessary and not gratuitous. I can definitely see the Erickson/Malazan inspiration in Noah’s writing. I cannot recommend this book enough! It may be the first book other than Malazan that I had trouble putting down while reading.
