1. Foods, Herbs, and lifestyle factors have an affect on the immune system. 2. Immune booster may help in preventing the onset of disease. 3. Relaxation and meditation help the body's immune system. 4. The Best Defense against old and new disease is a healthy immune system. 5. Antioxidants may be the most powerful health enhancers; they prevent disease (arthritis, flu, heart disease, cancer), boost the immune system, and slow the aging process. Antioxidants are more effective when combined with immune boosters and cancer fighting nutrients. Eat plenty of grains, vegetables, and fruits contain an abundance of antioxidants. Eat five servings of whole grains, vegetables, and fruits per day. 6. Antioxidant list: Add 200 mg Vitamin E supplement. Include: B6, glutathione, bioflavonoids, and minerals (selenium, zinc, copper, and manganese) and amino acid called L-cysteine. 7. Cells and tissues break down through oxidation. Oxidation creates free radicals. Damaged tissue replaces normal tissue. Damaged tissue manifests in the collagen of the skin, wrinkles; cataracts in the eyes, and Alzheimer's in the brain; plaque in the arties; inflammation in the joints and deformities in the bones. Free radicals can weaken the immune system; free radicals can damage DNA and cause cancer. 8. The cells produce oxidants resulting in free radicals. Oxidants result by the combination of oxygen and nutrients. According to Bruce Ames, the DNA receives 10,000 hits from oxidants per day. Damage can result in death of cell or mutation and cancer. Fortunately, enzymes repair the damage done to the DNA. 9. Beta-Carotene increases the number of several types of immune cells, including CD4 cells and natural killer cells. Cells with CD4 on its surface initiate the body's response to invading microorganism. Beta-Carotene is known to reduce infections in the intestinal tract and lungs. Beta-carotene is one of approximately 50 carotenoids of the known 600. Beta-Carotene food sources: sweet potatoes, carrots, kale, spinach, turnip greens, winter squash, collard greens, cilantro, fresh thyme, cantaloupe, romaine lettuce and broccoli. Beta-Carotene is effective in preventing fat and cholesterol from being oxidized and forming arteriosclerosis. 10. Add 100 mg of Vitamin C. Vitamin C is the most effective antioxidant. Vitamin C causes the immune system to respond more vigorously to viruses, bacteria, and cancer cells. Vitamin C prevents the oxidation of fats that leads to arteriosclerosis, heart attacks, and strokes. In one study, the oxidation of lipids was stopped entirely while vitamin C was present in the bloodstream. 11. Add 200 mg of Vitamin E. Vitamin E boost CD4 cells and granulocytes. Once, Neutrophils receive the appropriate signal, it takes 30 minutes to arrive on site; they engulf the invaders coated with antibodies and complement, and damaged cells or cellular debris and turn into pus cells and die. Vitamin E prevents LDL cholestrol from being oxidiz
