I felt like I was on a cruise

When Fiona and her three best friends board the cruise ship The Temptress for a Caribbean vacation, you'll feel like you're along on the trip. Author Gaby Triana creates an exotic tropical backdrop for her story that perfectly sets the stage for a trip you know won't go as planned. The four girls face what most teens who have just graduated from high school face - worries about the future and heading off to college, fears about their friendships, and trepidation about boyfriends. It's easy to see why Fiona, Alma, Killian and Yoli are fast friends, but even friends have their disagreements. Will their arguments lead to the storm and strife predicted by a fortune teller before they travel? You'll have to read the story to find out. My 12-year-old daughter loved the novel, and picked it for one of her summer reading books.

Strife and Storms......

"one of you will not come home" Madame Fortuna predicted the girls would be splitting up sooner than they ever expected, and those words rang true for graduating seniors Fiona, Killian, Alma and Yoli. As they embarked on their 'last hurrah before college/we graduated' caribbean cruise liner, appropriatly named "The Temptress", the Madame's words are never far from thought. In this fun summer page turner, Gaby Triana created the perfect picture of a teenage girl and her 3 best friend trying to find themselves but still remaining intact as best friends. Every girl who reads this surely will be able to relate to one of the key characters,or possibly all, in one way or another. The story follows the girls on their cruise, through the parties, fights with each other, jealous girls, sleazy boys (and the not so sleazy ones!), casinos, and killian's occasional heart-stopping jokes. At the end you feel like these girls could be your best friends, because the personalities are very real and relatable. I read the book front to back in about 3 hours, and I was thoroughly impressed. I definitely would recommend this book for all readers, its an amazingly fun filled, mysterious read. This book really keeps you on your toes all the way to the very ending! I can't wait to see if there is a sequel to the book, I am going crazy in my head wondering what happened to all the girls after the cruise!

Baby Let's Cruise

This book is a must for your teen summer reading list! Four friends, very different from each other, but united in their group loyalty, plan a summer cruise at the end of high school graduation. The night before they leave, a fortune teller makes some horrific predictions about the trip, including the dire warning that one girl will not make the trip home. There is plenty of romance, heartbreak, break-ups and make-ups and the backdrop is as yummy as a frozen margarita. All predictions come true, but the ending is truly unpredictable and a sheer delight. Readers will fall in love with these characters and their inspiring friendship.

I loved it!!!

This was a fun read! I loved the premise for the story, the way it kept you wanting to read all the way to the end, and how the characters all go through changes and cling to each other knowing that things between them are near the end. Great for older teens looking forward to high school graduation.

Fiona and her three best friends are about to embark on a graduation cruise to the Caribbean, one last adventure together before they head their separate ways. On a whim, they agree to have their fortunes told by Madame Fortuna at the senior fair the night before departure. Madame Fortuna predicts strife and storms. Then, after turning over the DEATH card, she proclaims, "One of you will not come home." With trepidation, the girls set sail on the Temptress the following morning, each with their own expectations of what the week may bring. On a ship where no one knows them, they're free to step out of their comfort zone and take risks. But will the bonds of their friendship be strong enough to hold them together through the storms and strife to come? What follows is a delicious romp through a week of ship's parties, dances, scrumptious food, and romance, even if it's forbidden. The girls shop, they get a little sun, they indulge in full body massages, and, oh yes, attract a lot of attention. Imagine: four beautiful, sexy, young women trolling the decks for fun. Gaby Triana has done a beautiful job of creating four distinctly different, yet fascinating, characters. That they are so close is both surprising and completely believable. I was intrigued when I read the blurb about the book at Ms. Triana's website and was not disappointed. With plenty of laughter, love, and tears, this is an engaging story of a voyage into adulthood and independence that should not be missed. Reviewed by: Cana Rensberger
