Great book if you like supernatural romances

In this book the female lead and male lead meet in africa and get married quickly. Soon after the wedding she flies home and is going to set up house until he can join her however he contracts malaria and dies. She of course is depressed and closes herself off from the outside world when unexpectedly a black cat shows up at her door and begins to talk to her (yes she does believe she's crazy at first) the cat tells her to go to the tower in thier home so she can speak with her husband but she is only allowed to do this twice the third will have unknown consiquinces. she listens and is allowed to see her husband. Thats the basis of the plot should have been a shadows book but either way it was interesting. Worth rereading.
