Very Intense

This book was great. My heart was pounding through the last 3 or 4 chapters. From the beginning of the book until the end I never wanted to put it down. I highly recomend this book.

Powerful...

Autumn Sommers dreams of a little girl named Molly, witnessing her kidnapping in the dream. Haunted by the memory of a past dream that came true, Autumn is determined to find out who Molly is, particularly as the dream keeps returning to her, over and over again. Her search leads her to wealthy sporting goods store owner, Ben McKenzie. Will Autumn be able to convince Ben of the truth of her dreams in time? Kat Martin once again delivers a powerful romantic tale! The dreams add a delightful touch of the paranormal to a very emotional storyline. The romance between Autumn and Ben is quite touching and one can't help but cheer them along as they follow their hearts in their search for Molly. THE SUMMIT touches on a theme that is near and dear to me as a social worker- the abduction and subsequent exploitation of children. Ms. Martin addresses the issue of missing children in a sensitive manner while still bringing it to the attention of readers. Just as Molly's fate is uncertain throughout the tale, so are those of all of the missing children today. Through the eyes of Ben, one can really get a glimpse of the pain and suffering the families left behind must go through. THE SUMMIT is yet further proof of the talent of Kat Martin. I didn't want to put this one down and it took every ounce of restraint I had to not peek to the end. Kat Martin showcases her incredible writing skills with this beautiful tale that is a testament to the strength and enduring quality of love. THE SUMMIT is a keeper! Psychic Detective Story

Kat Martin brings us another of her paranormal adventures. The characters are very well drawn and the story could have come from today's headlines. I enjoy the depth to the characters and the story is focused on the heartache this family has endured. I loved it. Autumn Sommers is a school teacher and part time rock climber. She teaches a class at her gym on rock climbing after school and on weekends. She is very busy but not to busy to dream. She is haveing a recurring dream when she sleeps, a little girl is tempted away and abducted from her yard. Autumn has had this type of dream once before, and two of her best friends died in a car wreck. Knowing this dream will come to pass she begins to search for the victim. However, she finds that this abduction happened twelve yrs ago and convincing the child's father to trust her and open himself up to hope is a hard job. Ben McKenzie is a self-made millionaire, and since his daughter was lost he and his wife have divorced, and he has thrown himself into that business. Now Autumn won't leave him alone, and he has come to accept the death of his child. Reopening those old wounds to find her a fake, after his money would kill him. When they finally reach a compromise the story takes off and never stops. This is a high action ride and I loved the story. Kat Martin is becoming one of my favorite authors. Do not miss this book.

Paranormal mystery and romance with plenty of suspense!

Autumn Sommers is a 5th grade teacher in Seattle who also is a professional rock climber/instructor. Twelve years ago as a teenager she had a recurring automobile accident dream involving three friends and when it came true she was sorry and suffered much guilt over never saying anything. Autumn starts having dreams of a five or six year old blond and blue-eyed girl named Molly who is lured away from her friends and into a car by a man holding a puppy. After this dream recurs several times, Autumn decides she can't ignore it and uses a friend in the police and then as the dream evolves and she sees the child 5 or 6 years older, she searched old newspapers to find the missing girl. Autumn finds six year old Molly McKenzie who was kidnapped from in front of her home six years ago. Molly's dad in Ben McKenzie who owns a high quality sporting goods chain and who comes to Autumn's gym to workout. She confronts Ben and tells him about her dreams but he is angry and figures she is out to get money or something like cheap thrills. Autumn basically stalks him until she finally convinces him she is sincere and then is able to give him information about one of Molly's friends at the time, Robbie, that was not information that was released to the press. Ben still isn't sure what to do except he does not want to get his ex-wife's and parents and other daughter's hopes up based on a dream!! How Autumn's dreams evolve and they search and use their contacts to get more information to follow was very fascinating. You do need to suspend your belief system but as I mention above this is a "paranormal" mystery so you have to realize this is fantasy NOT reality!! Plenty of suspense and great wrap up at the conclusion!

4.5 stars...a great book by Martin

When Autumn Sommers starts dreaming about a child being kidnapped, she has to do something. When she was 15 she ignored a dream which resulted in the deaths of her two best friends. Knowing what she knows now, Autumn knows that she won't be able to live with herself until she finds out who the girl is. After searching the library's archived news stories, Autumn's search brings her to Ben McKenzie. Though she doesn't personally know him, Ben owns the building where she teaches rock climbing classes for a local gym. She knows that seeing Ben is what triggered her dreams. Ben McKenzie is more than shocked when a woman comes to his office claiming that his daughter, Molly, is still alive. Though it has been six years, Ben still remembers everything about that horrific time that Molly was taken. Though he would never claim to be happy, Ben is satisfied with his life. Concentrating almost solely on running his company, Ben wants nothing to do with the crazy woman who says that she sees Molly in her dreams. Eventually Autumn convinces Ben that she's not crazy. Ben is more than surprised when Autumn knows things about the kidnapping that were never made public. Soon Autumn and Ben are trying to make sense of Autumn's dreams and the things she sees. When their search leads them deep into the mountains, they both know that time is running out for Molly. The Summit is a great book and I highly recommend it.
