The Substitute Network #1: Classified: A Middle School Spy Novel

By Jaymes Mercer

When the teachers are out, the spies are in.

12-year-old Theo Reyes thought subbing for his math class was bad. Then a secret agency recruits him during a fire drill.

Now Theo is Mr. Reyes by day, Substitute Agent by... also day. His mission: stop the PTA (not the bake sale kind) from turning Jefferson Middle into ground zero for a district-wide data heist.

Armed with a hall pass that hacks computers, a drama queen best friend who weaponizes monologues, and a C- in French that would make his actual French teacher cry, Theo must go undercover as a substitute teacher to save his school.

There's just one problem: He doesn't speak French.

But the number one rule of AEP: Never break character.

The Substitute Network: Classified is a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud middle school spy novel for kids 9-12. Perfect for readers who enjoy the humor and adventure of Spy School and anyone who's ever wondered what's really happening in the teachers' lounge.

If you like secret codes, school-wide lockdowns, lunch ladies with sporks, and undercover kids saving the day, this book is for you.
