An Interesting Find

I was lucky enough to come accross this book at a library book sale, and it was a good find. Califano gives a brief overview of the turmoil surrounding S.D.S. and the student uprisings at universities in the late sixties. Part of the focus is on Berkley, but the book also covers western european unversities in some detail. Califano's portrayal is from an outsider's perspective (he was not involved in the movement), but he is very sympathetic. Even where he disagrees with some individual causes the students brought up in their protests, he recognizes that if the students are in turmoil then there must be some very real problem underneath the surface.
