The Story of Bad Eagle: A Quahada Comanche Headman, 1839-1909

Bad Eagle ("Quin-ne kish-su-it") was a Quahada Comanche band headman, born in 1839, and died in 1909. He is most famous for two events: 1) he, along with Wild Horse and another Comanche, showed the U.S. Army where Quanah Parker and the last free Quahada were hiding in Palo Duro Canyon, rather than let them all starve; 2) Quanah Parker later stole one of Bad Eagle's wives, the young To-nar-cy, and paid a big price for her, rather than face the wrath of Bad Eagle.
