great oklahoman author

I picked up this book because I liked the title, and halfway through I realized the author lives in Oklahoma. This fact amazed me because I live in OKC and I haven't read many good Oklahoman authors(besides PC Cast). Anyway, the book is worth reading even if you don't have kids. I was hooked from the first page and my husband's digruntled with me now. We've been married for almost 3 years and have no kids. This book made me want to start a family more than ever. Pregnancy sounds like a great adventure the way the author wrote it. I want to BE pregnant now. This book makes me want to go out and babysit and hang out with little kids. Wonderful book, Malena Lott! I can't wait for the next one, and I'll make sure to go to one of your signings in OK.

Surprised to find!!

This book was a book that I was in the store buying some sun block and was almost done with the book I was currently reading so I thought...hmmm...I should buy a new one. I quickly glanced over the titles and this one caught my eye. I am not married or planning on having children any time soon so I wasn't sure if I was going to like it but thought I would give it a try. Well needless to say I finished this book in 5 hours!! I couldn't put it down. It was amazing and I enjoyed it so much! I would recommend this book to anyone needing a great summer read or someone who is expecting a child. It not only showed that becoming a preggo (as Taylor's friends would put it) can be a very scary and sudden thing but the book helps you realize you can cope with it and what to expect during the pregnancy. Great Job Malena and looking forward to your next book(s)!

Smart and sweet

Wow - this book really brought me back to when my husband and I were planning our first child, now six. (I have two now.) I guess the difference between me and the protagonist, Taylor, is that our first one was planned and we thought we were "ready." But still, this book captures the journey you go through when you're young and the world is your oyster and suddenly - whether by choice or by surprise - life goes from being "All About Me" or maybe "All About Me and He" to "Me Who?" Everything shifts when you see that second pink line, and this book does a great job of exploring the questions mommies face: How will this change my marriage? Will I be a good parent? How do I balance work and parenting? Should one of us quit our job to stay home? Will I ever have sex again? It was sweet and funny, and very real. I really liked the structure of the book, and getting to live vicariously through the ultrasounds and first tummy flutters. I also really enjoyed the story of Taylor's family history that is revealed throughout - like a mini multigenerational novel within a novel. This is Lott's debut novel and I am so excited to have a new author to look for. I am so getting this for all my friends for birthday and shower gifts this year.

The Stork Reality

I find this first time author funny and refreshing. Although many years have passed since I was in Taylor's position it was easy to relate to the authors story and I will look forward to her next novel.......when is that?

Great book!

Stork Reality is a fun read. As a working mother myself, I could totally relate to her emotional feelings throughout her preganancy and laughed out loud through out the book. I would recommend this book to any mother-to-be or mother who needs some time to just enjoy a good book!
