The State of Gantair

Civil War in the US has caused global instability from social inequality and polar ideology, sending a shock around the world. By the year 2111 pockets of paramilitary leaders have converted communities into in-feuding nation states.

A clear division across the country has fragmented the nation into further division as martial law became the norm. Global and regional trade comes to a screeching halt because the cargo cannot be protected long enough to reach its destination.

Local enforcement officials have tried to maintain some system of government, but the people have been left to fend for themselves. Family, friends, and neighbors begin to nominate microstate leaders in an attempt to rebuild. By 2349, a second dark age throws the world back into feudal society with local landowners controlling money and resources.

The State of Gantair follows the lives of such a community, rallied behind their local Lords and Ladies.
